Day 4- Grob – Augsburg, Germany

Today officially marks the 4th day in Germany and oh my how fast this is going by. Today also marks the second day of our company visits, in which we visited Grob. The inside of the factory was really cool, but due to legal reasons, we’re not allowed to take photos, so if you want to see it, do Plus3 Germany. Grob was way more distinct and interesting compared to the last company visit. I’m not saying this as in Hoebriger was a bad company, but rather what Grob produces allows them to better pursue the future. Grob produces their own machines and these machines have two functions. The first function is that they can build/print whatever design Grob’s customer wants/needs. The second use of these machines is to make more Grob machines, which can be used to either expand the company or sell them to their customers. Most of Grob’s sales in the market is making parts for e-mobility (Electric cars) and because their machines can make anything, they can continue to reach new markets with their old customers. This is very interesting because the machines can serve many different functions and therefore it would be very hard for Grob not to keep up with the market. Grob was a really good factory to tour and their cafeteria was really good (except they served spaghetti and I got that on my white shirt).

After the company visit, we had free time to do what we wanted to do. So, I just walked around Augsburg and went shopping. Some Europeans have a really good sense of style and so I wanted to try to copy it. After this, I headed over with other students to this Vietnamese food place. I can’t remember the name of it, but I got chicken pho, which was really good because pho anywhere is just amazing.

The days are passing way to fast right now and I wish time would slow down so I could enjoy Germany more! I am looking forward to another day!
