His Final Rest.

Today we visited the Cyprus Marine and Martine Institute or CMMI. The goals of this company are to reduce the environmental impact of the shipping industry in Cyprus create a blue economy and restore a healthy marine life. There are many different ways CMMI achieves these goals. They create their own technologies including the digitalization sector and the robotic sector portions of the company. Here CMMI has created above-water vessels. The goals of these vessels are to collect data on nautical vehicles traveling through protected areas, testing for various compounds in the water, and surveying for trash in the ocean. Additionally, the research company creates events for the community. The goal of this is to help people recognize the beauty of the ocean so they have stronger aspirations of protecting it. What I learned from this presentation is the importance of creating goals for a company with set numbers that are achievable. Additionally, it is important to have many different teams within the company. The benefits of this you can be working on many different projects at the same time and you can have specialized people for each project.

In addition to meeting with CMMI, we went to the church of Lazarus. Lazarus was one of the 12 disciples whom Jesus rose from the dead after passing away from an illness 3 days prior. After the crucifixion of Christ Lazarus fled from the holy land in fear of being killed for being associated with Jesus. He arrived in Cyprus and continued to preach Christianity. He died years later and after people discovered his tomb hundreds of years later people built the church of Lazarus. You can to this day still see his tomb under the altar of the catholic church. I learned a lot about the importance of historical religion. I was also very excited about the tomb of Lazarus this story from the bible I have heard since I was a kid and have always wanted to go and see some of the locations and reference places that still remain on earth today.
