Noogles at Google

Today we started our day with a tour from Dr. Kelly where he talked about how education and business has changed over the last few decades in Ireland. It was an amazing tour with incredible stories! We then walked to Google where we toured the offices and asked Googlers questions. I loved the tour and listening to their different experiences and their passion for the company.

Dr. Kelly talked a lot about the old Dublin compared to the new Dublin. Since being in Ireland, I’ve noticed the difference between new and old. On our tour today, there were statues to symbolize the old Dublin. I also noticed this on the different city tours earlier in the week. The old Dublin and how some of the architecture was built when Ireland was still under England ruling because it’s English architecture. Meanwhile, there are new buildings like the apartment buildings in that same area that is like the new Dublin. These buildings were built because people were starting to work more in the city and they needed to build more for people to live in.

While our Google tour was amazing! I don’t think I want to work for them. They have so many cool amenities where I will definitely get distracted. Also, because the acceptance rate into Google is like 0.63%, I think it will be too much of a competitive environment and I would be afraid of messing up and be overwhelmed.
