We started off the morning by having a traditional Bavarian breakfast, white sausage and pretzels. The white sausage is made out of pork and veal and then grinded into a pig intestines casing. You are supposed to peal off the pig intestines casing before you eat it. The white sausages was really good and I love the fact that we went to a local area that felt pretty Bavarian. It was really nice to be at a local food deli and get a traditional experience. The only thing that surprised me was the fact that Germans drink beer with breakfast!
After breakfast, we went to our third company, which is known as Forvia. This company used to be called Feurica before they combined with another company called Hella. Forvia is known for producing interior designs in cars such as doors, seats, and various technologies in the car. This factory produced the exhaust system used by various cars and even some tractors. What I find really interesting about this company is the fact that soon they need to start switching over to producing parts for electric vehicles. Since this factory mostly makes exhausts, eventually it will become outdated since more electric cars will be dominating the market. Forvia does have a plan on which they are working on more sustainable energy for cars, however this is still in development. More interesting facts about Forvia is that 80-85% of their components used in their products are bought from suppliers. Instead of making these parts out of raw material, most of these parts are bought. Forvia differs than the previous companies since Forvia has more of an impact of supplying to OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) since they supply the final good to be used by the OEMs. Forvia was really interesting company to visit and I look forward to seeing how they adapt to the exhaust market getting smaller every year.
