DocuSign Day!

This morning our group was able to return to the Docklands and learn a bit more about the evolution of the area. Following this, we were off to Trinity College for a guest lecture with an employee from DocuSign. DocuSign is a company that experienced significant growth through the pandemic, but has since had a slowdown in growth. During this session we had a detailed discussion of the company culture at DocuSign, and one thing that stood out to me is how different it seemed from that of Google. At DocuSign, up until their recent change in leadership, there has been a fairly relaxed workplace culture, in which there is not extreme pressure to work as quickly as possible, and more of a focus on making sure everyone gets along. However, with their new leadership they are now moving towards a more Google style pace, in which they are pressured heavily to produce quickly and efficiently.

Additionally, DocuSign is currently focused on expanding internationally as the market for their product grows, especially throughout Europe. For this expansion they are mostly focused on word of mouth marketing and corporate events. The primary obstacle of this expansion is the current European tendancy to prefer paper contracts, but it is their hope that at the market progresses in a digital direction that their product will be the first choice.

Last night after the comedy club we visited a few reccomended Irish pubs, and hope to see a few more this evening. Then tomorrow we’re off to the Irish countryside! One more week in this amazing country.
