DocuSign or Google??

Today was a really good day! This morning we started with a continuation of our Docklands walking tour with Dr. Kelly. It was a really interesting and engaging lecture, almost felt like a simple conversation about Dublin rather than a lecture. After Docklands, Dr. Kelly walked us to Trinity college where we had a site visit with DocuSign. I was looking forward to this site visit as I did a little bit of research about the company before the visit. In short, DocuSign is an online platform for document authorization which makes it easier for wide spread agreements. With the use of DocuSign it speeds up the process of everyday company agreements and saves paper by not printing thousands of pages of paper. I think the services that DocuSign offers is very unique but very helpful in day to day business. I also really liked how our presenter was talking about time difference when working with companies across the world.

I personally liked the way our presenter described DocuSigns approach to multi-national business. He was talking about the time difference when working with companies across the world. He gave an example that someone in San Francisco who is 8 hours behind is starting their work day while our presenter is just about to wrap up for the day. This shows that even tho DocuSign works with multiple different time zones they still manage to work cohesively given this challenge.

On the other hand Googles approach to multi-national business differs from DocuSign but aslo has some similar qualities. We visit Google a couple days ago and during their presentation they also talked about working with different time zones, but from my understanding they still have team meeting via zoom (or google meets) with their team no matter what time zone they are in. So they could have some employees call in at noon, while across the world other employees call in at 4 or 5pm. This is different from DocuSign as our persentor said they do the work during their normal business hours and he just gets emails all night and reviews and answers them during his business hours. Comparing and contrasting these two compaines is quite difficult but it is very interesting to look into doing business even across the world.

Overall today I learned a lot, it was really fun to hear about our presenters career path, he has grow a lot in his career working with a couple different companies with different responsibilities. I hope to one day has as much experience in the business world that he does.
