Today we had our first excursion outside of the city of Prague. After meeting up in the hotel lobby, we all walked to a nearby bus and traveled one hour towards the German border. Our final destination was the Ledvice Powerplant. Overall, this experience was probably one of best visual tours I have been on in a long time. We traveled across the powerplant, exploring the control system and the nearby coal mine.

Coming into the trip, I have had a few misconceptions about the Czech Republic. For example, I have heard in the past is that the local population of this country is often very strict with themselves. However, we have gone out to multiple restaurants to find out that some of the Praguians here are extremely friendly, and go out of their way to help tourists find things to do. Overall, the Czech Republic is very friendly, and people are not as unfriendly or as strict as the internet says!
