Today, we had the opportunity to listen in on a presentation from the International Controller for Docusign. Even though we were unable to be onsite for the visit of their office, we were still able to learn about their history, the business, and their company culture. Docusign is a San Francisco based Saas company and the current market leader in the e-signature space. The business completely accelerated after COVID and the mist of the pandemic, where their stock price peaked at over $300 in 2021. Even the employees were shocked and knew that it would not remain stagnant at that price. At the end of the presentation, we were able gain some valuable insights and great advice on searching for a job and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Google and Docusign are two very different companies with different business models and approaches to company culture and international business.
Google is renowned for its distinctive corporate culture, which is based on the ideals of innovation and idea exchange. Because Google promotes cooperation and teamwork, its open workplace layouts are intended to promote employee contact. The business also provides free food, on-site gyms, and health care to its employees as bonuses and benefits.
Contrarily, Docusign has a culture that prioritizes respect, innovation, integrity, and a focus on the consumer. The business values diversity and inclusion and has made a number of efforts to advance it. They have a diversity and inclusion council, a global women’s network, and a program for employee resource groups.
Google has offices and data centers all around the world, giving it a significant global footprint. The business has tailored its goods and services to fit the demands of clients in other nations, and it has partnered with regional businesses to broaden its market. Google’s strategy for doing business internationally is centered on establishing connections with local partners, comprehending local cultures, and offering locally tailored goods and services.
Docusign is a multinational business with operations in a number of nations. They have an international security program that makes sure local laws and data protection standards are followed. To increase their reach and offer locally tailored goods and services, they work with local partners when doing business abroad.
In conclusion, while both Google and Docusign are forward-thinking businesses with a global presence, they have differing perspectives on workplace cultures and global trade. While Docusign places a strong emphasis on customer focus and integrity, Google’s culture is focused upon collaboration and innovation. Both businesses have formed alliances to increase their presence in foreign markets, but Google’s strategy places more emphasis on locally tailored goods and services, while Docusign’s strategy places more emphasis on adhering to regional laws and data protection standards.
Today’s speaker had a very impressive career and unique background that is different from what I have seen before. For him to come from a small town and be able to attend college and obtain his masters was very impressive. He was able to obtain high positions in a multitude of companies and work up his corporate rank and get promoted at different positions. For his current position, his job seems very interesting but also seems overwhelming at times because of the focus of international presence and maintaining customer relationships.
