Today we traveled to Rotterdam, however there were a couple bumps along the way. We got to the the intercity train today and loaded onto the train, however it got delayed, and then canceled because there was an accident at one of the other stations. Because of this delay, we had to move some things around but we were still able to do everything we had on the agenda today. Today’s company visit was to a floating farm, which is exactly what it sounds like. This company produces cheese, milk, butter milk, and yogurt via cows that live in the floating farm below. This farm is incredibly sustainable. To mention a few, they take donations from nearby breweries and bakeries that would otherwise get thrown away to help feed the cows. They also use solar panels for energy which you can see in the picture. They even take the manure from the cows and turn it into fertilizer pellets to sell to other farmers. An interesting thing I found was unlike most other businesses, this one started to gain more business post covid, as they opened up a separate market area nearby which gained a lot of attention and is now there most popular location for their products.

After the farm, we went on a canal cruise through Rotterdam, which is one of the largest port cities in the world. I didn’t take too many pictures not he cruise because my phone was on low charge and my portable charger was dead, but fortunately the sun came out for a good amount of the cruise. The tall building to the left of the bridge was a huge Deloitte office, which is one of the “Big 4” accounting firms, that I could possibly be interning/working at in the future, which I thought was cool.

After the cruise, we went and got dinner. Today we had chicken and veal kebabs with rice and French fries that was absolutely incredible (especially compared to dinner yesterday). Unfortunately my phone died on the walk to the restaurant, so I wasn’t able to take any pictures of the food.
