A Day Filled with Food and the Outdoors!

Day 7 in Argentina allowed us to relax, but also have fun at the same time. My days here always start out with breakfast from the hotel, and then meeting up with everyone and getting on the bus!! We did not have any lectures, but we did have a long drive, which took us to Luján, Argentina. We stopped at Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Luján, which was a very beautiful cathedral. The church also has a lot of history, and what was really cool about this building is all of the stained glass and architecture of the building inside, with some chandeliers. There were so many people inside, and there was a mass going on, but people were free to walk around anyways! Around the cathedral were many shops selling beautiful rosaries and other items. I really enjoyed this stop of the trip, but our journey was not done yet!

Next, we drove for a couple more minutes and headed to the Ranch (Rodizio Estancia) for the day! I really enjoyed the day here, since we spent so much time outside! When we arrived, we got a “appetizer”, which was empanadas and a sandwich with carne. Both were very delicious! After relaxing outside for some more time, it was time to go inside for lunch. We got served various types of meats, some that were more adventurous (blood sausage…which I did not get), and others such as pork and chorizo, which were very good. Dessert for me was a chocolate hazelnut mousse..yum!

After lunch, a group of us spent the rest of our day at the ranch doing many activities such as ping pong, jenga, bike riding, seeing the farm animals, a tractor ride, and archery! The bike ride was tiring, but it was definitely my favorite part because we saw all of the horses in the fields. Also, since I had found out archery was available, I immediately wanted to try it, since I have never done it before. 2/3 of my arrows actually hit the target, and even though I did not get bullseye, I think I did pretty good for the first time!! The farm animals that we saw were so cute too, and I included an amazing picture that I took of a pig (not sure how I acquired those camera skills)!! After we finished all of the activities, we went and got the afternoon snack, which were very tasty pastries, and then we hopped on the bus for a long, but relaxing drive back to the hotel in Buenos Aires, in which Tori and I listened to music with her AirPods.

To end today’s blog post, I would like to give a special shoutout to my mom, Sandra, since Mother’s Day is tomorrow!! I wanted to thank her for everything she does for me and for always supporting me in everything I do. She is always there for me, always answers my annoying FaceTime calls, and is a shoulder to cry on during any hard times I have experienced. Mom, I love you so much and I wish I was able to be home for Mother’s Day with you this year!

As always, I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Attached below are some pictures from the rest of my fun-filled day today!!!
