Another Great Day

Day number seven is in the books! Today was by far my favorite day. We visited the town of Lujan which is about an hour’s drive to the West of the city of Buenos Aires. Argentina is a very catholic country, and in Lujan, there is a very important Catholic church called the Basilica of Lujan. The Basilica is ginormous, with many beautiful statues and artwork revolving around Catholicism. The creation of the Basilica is a very interesting story. After the Virgin Mary passed she was taken North from the bottom of South America on a buggy being pulled by an ox. When they reached the location of the Basilica of Lujan the ox would not move any further, until Mary was taken off the buggy. Because of this, the people who took her decided this is where she wanted to rest, and then built the Basilica there in her honor. After we visited the Basilica we went to a ranch called Rodizio Estancia. I enjoyed the ranch a lot, it was very relaxing and a perfect way to recharge my batteries after a long week. The ranch had your typical farm animals, cows, horses, pigs, and a couple of others. We also got to try many different pieces of barbecue, but the one I’ll never forget is the blood sausage. I can officially say that I am not a fan, it was nothing like I’d eaten before but I’m glad I tried it. Other than that it was a very relaxing day, I sat in a lawn chair for probably three hours and I have to say those three hours were amazing. We couldn’t have had a nicer day to enjoy the ranch. As some of you may know tomorrow is Mother’s Day. My Mom is someone who has always had faith in me and has helped me an infinite amount of times throughout the hardships I’ve experienced. There is not a single person in the entire world that is nicer than my mom, she is the sweetest lady you will ever meet and never fails to make you smile. Mom I love you so much, I don’t know what I would do without you and I hope you have an amazing Mother’s Day because you deserve it.
