The title doesn’t even sound real to me. I can’t believe that it is already day 7 of our trip and we are officially half way done the trip. This morning we departed to Munich by a train, which went around 140 miles per hour. This train was extremely cool, although it did make me nauseous. The train only took 40 minutes to get to Munich, which was pretty fast. Once getting to Munich, even though it was raining, it was really beautiful.

What I really love about Munich is the history of Munich. I am a really big fanatic when it comes to history and particularly WW2 history. Unfortunately, a lot of bad history happened here, including the rise of the Nazi party, but what is cool is it makes this city historic. During our tour guide, she showed us a spot where people would walk in an alley in order to avoid the Nazi flag (it was mandatory to salute the Nazi flag). The city then honored these people by painting where they walked with gold.

Munich also has a lot of historic buildings. A lot of these buildings were bombed during WW2 so when these buildings are historic, technically they were built during the 1950’s. There were also many different areas in the city where there was a lot of greenery. What I have learned so far is that Germany really loves their greenery in their cities. A lot of American cities look just grey because of how much concrete and skyscrapers there are, but Munich has little to no skyscrapers. It’s very interesting to see a German city since it’s not like an American city, but rather German cities feels like extremely large towns. Now thinking about it, the reason why German cities won’t have that much sky scrapers is because the city has already been developed like this for thousands of years. If we compare this to New York City, this city was relatively new and so had the means to develop to how it is today. However with Munich, because of how old the city is, it never really had the chance to developed anything past the way it already developed.

The craziest part about Munich was there was yoga in the middle of the town center? It was being run by a group called Falun Dafa (which officially may or may not be a cult). They believe in some ancient Chinese meditation that does something with your body. I would not advise ever joining this group due to the danger of the possibility of them being a cult, but that is individual research that you have to make.

We finished off the day with eating at a German burger restaurant. Overall Munich is a very beautiful city with a lot of deep and rich history. I can’t wait to visit Munich again on my free day!
