Today we had the opportunity to explore the capital of Bavaria: Munich. Everyone got uo early and took the took the train to arrive in Munich. Once we got there we had a guided tour which took us down so many different streets in this city. When comparing this city to a city in the US one an see that there are no “skyscrapers” or very tall buildings. This city is also very old and you can see that through the buildings that show Munich’s history. It was also very easy to walk all over this city. The need for transportation was not there. When the time got closer to the hour, our tour guide led us to the cities Glockenspiel, which is a large cuckoo clock that gathers so many people in this square to watch the Glockenspiel in action.
We walked over to a canal where we saw a big section with waves. The tour guide told us that with the blockage ahead it made a great surf spot for people and we had the chance to see many people utilize it.

After our tour our whole group was starving so we went to a local stand to grab some food. I got chicken nuggets and french fries; which is very basic but they were a little different and very good! After hours of standing and running around the city all I wanted to do was sit down and give my feet a rest. There were no empty tables so while I ate I just plopped down onto the floor. Everyone had such good meals and it was rather inexpensive.

We had some free time so me and my friends decided to go explore some shops! There was a store called the “Gallería” which was like a high multilevel Macy’s. At the top floor there was a restaurant with a great view of the city. After checking out this store we went to a little gift shop with all things a tourist could want. For a while I have been hearing that if you go into a luxury story like Louis Vuitton, it is notably less expensive to buy in Europe than the US. My friend and I went to the LV store and were looking around, the prices were definitely cheaper in this store than what you would find in the US. We bought one thing and then made our way to a local festival. There were roller blades and bikers doing cool tricks, many food trucks and a big stage being set up for performers. It was really cool watching people enjoy there time at this festival.

After many hours of exploring it was finally time for dinner. Everyone in the group met back up to head to a cute little restaurant. Here I got a sweet tea (which was very different than our sweet teas here) and a burger with fries. It was so good and a little different than burgers here.

After dinner we all ran back to the train and enjoyed our scenic ride back to Augsburg. That night we explored the city and relaxed for our next day which we knew would be an emotional one.
