Going into this trip, I expected to experience major culture shock upon entering the country. Hearing all of the locals speak a different language is obviously not what I am used. However, there have been limited things that have felt far from normal besides that. Daily life here does not seem to be far on spectrum from what it is back home in the states.
A difference I have noticed is how consistently dogs here are well trained. This may be a coincidence. It has held true long enough that I am starting to believe it is not. Almost none of the dogs that I have encountered here have barked or whined in passing. They generally seem much more relaxed and tame. It is frequent to find dogs off leash as well where they can be signaled to return to their owner when needed. Shops and restaurants are also often open tot he presence of dogs and I have encountered quite a few during meals.

if you look closely i was a big fan of the blue house just across the highway
