Today we travelled to Aphrodite’s Rock where we walked on the beach. I was expecting to be more excited because I was really looking forward to this but it was just a rock haha. However, I love the backstory of Aphrodite. Cyprus is the birthplace of Aphrodite and she is the ancient greek goddess of love, beauty, and passion. She is the ultimate woman.

After visiting Aphrodite’s Rock we travelled into the town of Paphos where we toured the Tomb of Kings. Our amazing tour guide showed us around the tombs. They created large tombs which is insane to think about the work and time commitment that went into it. They could have dug a whole into the dirt, but they didn’t. They constructed mass tombs with lots of space, and they included wells in all of the tombs so water would be present. They believed that water was needed for them to travel into their afterlife. I found that interesting.

After the King of Tombs we travelled to the touristy part of Paphos where we ate lunch by the water. I ordered spaghetti carbonara. It was amazing, as I ate every last bite. Lunch was lovely with everyone. We walked along the boardwalk there and I bought a tiramisu ice cream cone. There was a pelican on the boardwalk too. I had never seen a pelican before in person. There were quite large with long mouths. It started to peck at a man’s belly which was funny. The water is so clear and clean. I wish it was like that in the States.

After our free time in Paphos, we met back up together to see the mosaics. There was once a house that was over the mosaics that they since discovered and are now protected under the wooden structure. The mosaics are all so beautiful and unimaginable how they planned and constructed them. A lot of them were fully intact. The geometric designs we see today could be seen in this time period. We headed back to Limassol where I took a much needed nap. I relaxed with Grace. We went to get dinner together and checked out the street vendors again. Not looking forward to leaving!
