Today we spent the day at Kutna Hora! We saw many important places while we were here, but the highlight was the Bone Church (Sedlec Ossuary). While definitely a unique and slightly creepy to see a chapel designed around the remains of thousands of people from hundreds of years ago, it was a powerful moment to be in the chapel to appreciate the history of this structure. We also saw more churches created from the wealth generated many years ago because of silver mining production.
When it comes to the food we’ve been exposed to here, my expectations were not very high. Before coming to the Czech Republic, I had never heard anything about Czech cuisine. Over the past week, I have been exposed to many different dishes, like svíčková, goulash, beef rolls, and more lovely snacks & meals. These experiences have definitely shaped my view in a way to be much more excited about future travels. But, if I had to pick a “favorite” meal from this trip, it would have to be the goulash I ordered at Základna restaurace. Despite it being brand new to me at the time, after the first bite, I felt like I was eating a home-cooked meal. In the company of friends, this experience can’t be beaten.
