EPIC with a Capital E

The EPIC Museum was epic: Despite being drained from a long week, the simple act of stamping my blank passport as I moved from room to room was surprisingly satisfying. The Irish Emigration Museum is an interactive space, with vibrant lights, artistic structures and entertaining visuals that keep visitors engaged. I found the comedy room particularly refreshing, offering a break from the rather serious topics that were presented in the prior rooms. It provided a sense of laughter while also offering insights into how comedy was perceived in the past. However, the best part of the museum was the storytelling exhibit, which was filled with books by Irish authors that visitors could pull out and have parts of their stories read to them. As someone who isn’t a big fan of reading, this was a fun change that added to the overall immersive experience of the museum.

The design and layout of Epic museum was well thought out and made the experience even more enjoyable. The use of color, texture, and lighting created an immersive experience that made it feel like I was walking through an art museum rather than a history museum. Each room was beautifully designed and the displays were presented in a way that really brought the stories to life, making each inhibit memorable. I also like that each room had a different theme or story to tell, not dragging on and was in no way boring(like a traditional history museum). Overall, spending my Sunday morning at EPIC left me feeling, refreshed, educated and entertained.
