Tourists Aren’t All That Bad

Today we took another day trip to see a different part of rural Ireland. We went to the whole other side of the country in just 3 hours. This really put into perspective how much smaller it is than America. When we went out to the bus this morning I was pleasantly surprised with the huge party bus we had. It made all the hours in there a little but better. Our first stop on our trip was the Cliffs of Moher. I was really looking forward to this sight because I had heard great reviews and seen cool pictures. We walked to the top of the cliff and took lots of pictures. It was so pretty with the huge cliffs and clear water. There was also a little castle at the top that we got to walk to the top to and see up even higher. Afterwards we looked through some of the gift shops and continued on our way.

The next stop was in Galway, which is another small town. The only time I have heard about this town is in Ed Sheeran’s song so it was cool to see it in person. We got lunch at a small cafe and stopped in some of the shops. I wish we got some more time to look around in this town because I enjoyed the time spent there. Then we took the drive home and played cards to pass the time.

After the many tours and excursions we have been on, we have seen all the tourist activities available in Ireland. It seems as though Ireland accepts and supports tourism because for almost every activity there are multiple other buses there as well. I have seen that Irish people encourage tourism because it brings in new people that ultimately enriches their culture and allows them to share their culture with others. Tourism also serves as a very prosperous business because there are so many sights to see and so many people that want to see them.

If I were giving a sales pitch for Ireland, I would describe how you can get a little bit of everything. There are cities, small towns, farms, sightseeing, and historical landmarks. We have done such a variety of activities on this trip, which have been a lot of fun but have also helped me appreciate Irish culture.
