Day 10

Today was an early morning as we left at 8am. The drive took about an hour and a half to the beautiful castle of Neuschwanstein. Now although this was such an awesome experience, I messed up. I did not look at the forecast and wore a dress. It was 40 degrees and pouring down rain. Not to mention my dress was a cotton white dress. Not my brightest moment haha but oh well. I at least had a raincoat, and the dress was long sleeve, so it was bearable. Anyways when we arrived there and went to this pretty lake for a few minutes. Then some of us shopped around while the adults got our tickets. Finally, it was time for the hike up to the castle. I am not sure what other people thought but I did not think it was bad. It only took 15 minutes and then we were up.

When we got up, we still had some time before our tour, so we all explored the different views of the castle. It was definitely breath taking but I really wish it was not as cloudy as it was. This made it pretty challenging to see. After we explored, it was time to go in! I was especially excited as by this time it was pretty cold. We entered the castle and saw the dining hall, king’s throne room, kitchen, office, and a beautiful singing/orchestra room. We also saw a few pretty hallways and side rooms. Although pictures we not allowed, I do not even think it would do this place justice; I was in awe. There were so many painted walls and ceilings I was stunned by the detail and beauty. I do not blame Ludwig the second for hiding here. The castle was not only glorious but so was the view.

When the tour was over, we got a quick lunch and then grabbed these donut balls filled with this sweet yogurt. Both hit the spot especially being freezing and wet. After we made our way back to the bus and drove to a pilgrim catholic church. Similar to the castle, the detail was astonishing. We looked at it for some time and then headed back to the hotel. After a needed shower Kaylee, Emma, and I got subway and worked on our projects. Tomorrow is our presentations and then we have one more day left ☹

More updates tomorrow!
