Day 10 already? Ludwig the 2nd was a very interesting person. He was king of Bavaria, except he never wanted to be a king. He was very anti-social and would spend most of his days in his castle, which is called Neuschwanstein. Instead of ruling, Ludwig was more into art and therefore would build these art pieces styled after the various things that he admired about other artwork. Ludwig was most likely murdered by his own family because he was spending too much money on building these things instead of trying to be a king.
Unfortunately, the bad weather finally caught up to us and it was raining all day. The weather app said that the entirety of last week was supposed to be constant rain, but we actually got a lot of sunshine, but today the weather app was right. We made our journey to the castle by taking the bus to the village the castle was located in. This bus ride was about an hour and I kept my 10 day streak of sleeping on the bus every time. Arriving at the town, it was so nice to see the Alps again. Since it was cloudy, the clouds were descending down the mountains, which looked really could. I really love mountain ranges, so seeing the Alps one last time was a really good moment.

To get up to the castle, we needed to walk up a steep road for 15 minutes. Before I continue, I have to say I love hikes. I recently just went on a hike in April at Cooper’s Rock in West Virginia. I never had any issues doing hikes and in fact I did Cooper’s Rock while I was sick and I was still fine. However, this was the worst hike that I ever went on. The scenery was beautiful like always, but it was horrible walking up it. I don’t know what it was, but this was the most exhausting hike I ever walked.

The castle itself was stunning. It was model after gothic style architecture (in which in my opinion is the best style for a castle). Fun fact, the Disney castle was modeled after this castle. The castle on the inside was even more beautiful. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take photos on the inside, but the gothic style continued inside the castle. My favorite room in the castle was the throne room. The throne room had an entire wall dedicated to Christ and the 12 apostles. This room reminded me of Resonance art work and being able to these paintings were very cool especially since they were still intact.

We finished off the day by visiting Wieskirche. This place is a town that has a very famous church in it. The reason why it is famous is because of how big it is and how much artwork is inside. At this point, I am still blown away by all the decoration and artwork in these very old churches.

I finished off the day by getting fried donuts and finishing my work on our presentations that are due tomorrow.
