Thanksgiving in Czechia

There are a lot of great things going on throughout the Czechia trip. The two that I am most grateful for are the immaculate way our trip was planned and the beautiful Catholic Churches. Every day throughout our two weeks has had an exciting trip to either a cultural destination or a company visit. The cultural destinations have covered all the big sights like St. Vitus Cathedral, the Charles bridge and Cesky Krumlov. The company visits have each been interesting insight into engineering in Czechia. The planning that has gone into smoothly moving our group of 15ish throughout all the visits and the effort that must have gone into reaching out to busy companies is awesome. We haven’t missed a visit yet and the days are planned in such a way so that we are never pushed to hard yet feel like not a second has been wasted.

I am also thankful for the beautiful Catholic Churches especially St. Vitus, St. Barbara and Vysehrad. Both St. Vitus and St. Barbara took 300 years to build, and they are UNESO world heritage sights. The people that made them certainly aspired to something higher. They were built through wars, famines and went on to survive some of the 21st centuries worst totalitarian regimes. Being in them makes me want to aim at much loftier goals. Vyshared is also beautiful yet a little smaller than the first two. It is in the middle or a medieval fortress that also holds a graveyard containing many of Czechia’s most famous citizens.
