The Transformed Transformer Station

We had a lovely visit and tour of the Kunsthalle art museum, which is run by a Pitt alumni! The architecture of the building was fascinating because the building used to be an energy transformer station. They even incorporated the history of the building into a permanent wall exhibit of items that they found from the transformer station. We got a personal tour of the exhibitions and even got to see the basement where they store paintings. My favorite exhibition was definitely the hammock room which was truly an immersive experience. It featured music and projections on the walls. We then got to enjoy the view of the castle from the Kunsthalle balcony and network with other Pitt alumni. Overall, it was an interesting, educational, and fun day at the Kunsthalle.

After the Kunsthalle visit, we got to walk through the world’s narrowest alley. It is so small that it requires a traffic light because two-way traffic is not an option. We then went to the Charles Bridge where we got to see a light show and a concert from the orchestra. This extremely long day was wrapped up exactly how it should be – with some Creme de la Creme gelato!
