Mountainous highs and lows

Today we walked to BSM, Bernard Schulte Shipmanagement Training Center, which is located in Limassol. This visit was unlike any other visit we had been on. We didn’t have a formal presentation. Instead we walked around the building, and toured their rooms. We got the chance to see what I would call a simulation room. There were several monitors displaying a boat driving simulation. There was a group of a couple guys who were actively in a training session. They were fairly new and super funny. We actively saw them hit a sand bar where the water was 4 meters deep and the boat was about 16 meters. It was hilarious. While we were stuck there, a ship sideswiped them. It was hilarious. The man giving us our tour was in charge of their simulation so he was doing this on purpose for the demonstration. We had some good laughs. We also saw where they take their classes to learn and the cabins that their crew stays in while they are here in Limassol taking the training course to prepare for life at sea.

After our last site visit, we headed into the Trodos mountains to visit Omodos Village. We ate another mezze meal, I would say this was by far the best meal we had had yet. Lots of salads, breads, dips, risotto, wine sausages, a tomato dish, chicken skewers, and more chicken. We cleansed our palette which some fresh apples and oranges and then proceeded to use the orange peels as teeth. That was funny. After lunch we wandered around the villages. We toured a monastery which was beautiful, and they had many artifacts from an old time period. I was with a couple guys and we walked up a large hill that overlooked the village and saw a beautiful scenery. We went to some stores and then headed back.

After arriving in Limassol, Jodi and Scott bought us gelato and ice cream so naturally I got coffee. It was delicious, that was very nice of them, THANK YOU. Hello to Dr. Streiner reading this right now who will be grading these, haha! This was our last day here I can’t believe it. I have never had this much fun in my life. I have been laughing nonstop. We have our farewell dinner tonight in a mansion so that will be exciting. I don’t want to leave! 🙁
