Our first day back at Todd’s lodge was a free day to work on our projects. We pretty much relaxed all day. At night we went on a walk around the lodge to look for bugs and spiders that don’t come out until night. We saw a lot of interesting critters. Our next day started off with a river walk. This was one of my favorite activities that we’ve done. We got driven down the road and dropped off in front of the woods. They chopped their way through with a machete and we found the river. We started walking and it wasn’t too bad. Then, it got a little harder. People were slipping and falling. I know I came out with a few new bruises. At one point the water was so deep and swimming with boots on was very difficult. Some people were having trouble staying above water and a boot was even lost. We tried to find the boot, but the water was so deep we couldn’t find it. There was one pool that we could all climb up above the waterfall and jump into. It was so much fun.
We finished up the hike and walked back to Todd’s lodge. The walk back was also nice because we were walking down a big hill and the view was so cool.

Later in the day, we took boats to Misaualli, the nearby town. It was a cute town and there were wild monkeys everywhere. We saw them jumping around roofs, trashcans, bathrooms, and wires. It was kind of crazy seeing all these wild monkeys running around. On the way back to the lodge we stopped on a little island to hold a Boa Constrictor. I hate snakes so this was hard for me to do, but I did end up holding it. It was heavy and squirmed around a lot which I didn’t like, but at least I can say I did it. This morning we did our presentations and headed to the airport to fly to Puerto Lopez. I can’t wait to go to the beach!
