Today we went on our sweetest adventure yet at Sibo Chocolate. We started out by tasting they’re hot chocolate and then hearing there history and about the process of making chocolate while tasting their various kinds of chocolate.
The biggest similarity between chocolate and coffee production was being able to alter their final taste. With coffee this was able to be done by the amount of time that you were to roast the coffee bean, on the other hand with chocolate this can be done by altering the amount of cacao, sugar, or cocoa butter that is be used to build a chocolate.
Although both coffee and chocolate taste amazing both Sibo and Britt make most of their money through tourism. Not only can you tell that by the amount of money that you see them spend in samples that they leave out for tourists to try but by the amount of entertainment that they both put in during their tours. Not to forget that there’s not a single chance you can walk out of either of those companies without walking through their gift shop.
If I was to choose one company I would want to start in Costa Rica it would probably be chocolate. Not only because it tastes great but learning about the process of making chocolate made me think about what I actually put in my body (especially when it came to finding out that white chocolate actually isn’t not even chocolate).
