Hi guys, the day has come, the last blog post. It’s a sad but sweet day to post about this. After a very long flight and a long layover in the airport I had sometime to reflect on all the experiences I had while in Ireland. This Plus3 experience has taught me so much about not only myself but about how countries outside the U.S. work. We had many excursions and site visits some of my favorite would be Google, Microsoft, and ThinkHouse as I think these companies have different qualities that make them run and operate the way they do. But we also had some tours around the city to learn more about the history and up bringing Ireland faced. My favorite being our walking tour with Darra.
Before this trip I don’t know what I was expecting when it came to learning about Ireland but I know I learned so much about Ireland and Dublin and I have a new found appreciation for this country. I also learned a lot about myself, I figured out how to work the transit system almost perfectly within the first 3 days there and was able to navigate the city and where know where I wanted to go and how long it would take to get there.
I also learned some skills about the business world, the biggest being how to network, I think going forward in my future in the business world I will be using the techniques I learned at the networking lecture that I will take with me for a long time. I also learned what I want in a company after seeing all the sit visits and what I don’t want.
Overall I will really miss this country and all the friends I made while on this program. I look forward to seeing them walking around Sennott in the fall. I also want to say thank you to Meade and Phil for help putting this trip together and making it possible.
P.S. On our flight home as we were descending into Pittsburgh I saw the cathedral of learning and took a picture of it.
