Introducing Brandon

Hello everyone,

My name is Brandon Gallo. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, not very far from campus. I am a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan and have been one since I was young. In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, watch movies, and play golf. I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh studying Finance and Accounting. I have been interested in Finance since my freshman year in high school. I was thrilled to come to Pitt and study something I am so passionate about. On campus, I am involved with Panther Equity and the Undergraduate Finance Club. In the future, I want to work in wealth management.

This summer I will be traveling to South Korea! I could not be more excited to see everything Korea has to offer. I have never been abroad and look forward to expanding my worldview. In Korea, I will learn an immense amount about Korea’s smart systems. These smart systems lay out a blueprint for business as a whole in the future. With the recent focus on AI, I am interested to see how it is implemented, and further applications of it.

I chose to travel to Korea because it aligns with my interests and will help develop my professional skills. In terms of my personal interests, I have always been fascinated with Korean culture. When my brother was in college, he studied abroad at Yonsei University in Korea for a whole semester. When he came back, he told me it was his favorite place he had ever been. He loved the culture and the country’s beauty. In addition, South Korea will help me improve my soft skills. Professionally, being a well-rounded individual with a good perspective is vital. Traveling to Korea will help me expand my knowledge of other cultures and technologies in tandem with my interpersonal skills.

Altogether, I could not be more excited to arrive in Seoul this summer. I am thankful for the opportunity that the University of Pittsburgh is providing me, and cannot wait to make the most of my experience abroad!
