Hi all! My name is Colin Goldbeck and I am currently a freshman studying accounting and finance at the University of Pittsburgh. I am from Mountainside, New Jersey which is about 20 miles west of New York City. I have three older sisters, the oldest also went to Pitt. My other two sisters went to Villanova and UT Austin. I have a dog named Hunter who is a 100 lb teddy bear. I love to watch sports, although it’s hard sometimes being a New York sports fan. I also played soccer most of my life and still enjoy to play pickup in Pittsburgh. Here at Pitt I enjoy staying involved. Currently I am a member of PCT, a business fraternity, and the University of Pittsburgh Accounting Association. I also plan on rushing a social fraternity next semester as well as possibly joining Panther Equity.
I am extremely excited for the Plus3 trip to the Netherlands. It will be the first time I have ever left the country and I have always wanted to go to Europe. There were a couple of reasons I chose the Netherlands. First off there is really no language barrier and they are a similar country to the UK, where I can hopefully do a full semester abroad in the future. I wanted to get a feel for going abroad and felt that a two week program was the perfect experience. Also, I have always been very interested in Europe, their cultures, and how they function so I am thrilled to get to learn more about the country culturally, economically, and geographically.
