Pre-Departure Thoughts

It’s been less than a week since I packed my freshman dorm and moved out of Tower A. Now I am back on campus in Nordenberg with suitcases full of clothes. It feels like I can’t stay away! It’s been an exciting past seven days. Last Friday, I moved out. On Sunday, I turned 19. Now, I am back in Oakland to go to South Korea!

I had an unexpected panic earlier this week when I realized I left my passport in a storage unit while moving out! Luckily, my roommate happened to be staying in Oakland for this week and was able to grab it for me from the storage unit. Today, I got to see her again to get my passport. Crisis averted!

This past week I have been in between unpacking from my freshman year and packing for Plus3. I have been waiting in anticipation for this trip. It was a challenge to save room in my suit case knowing I want to buy clothes and souvenirs while in Seoul.

However, I definitely saved room for my new camera! For my birthday, I asked my parents for a camera. We went to Best Buy yesterday and bought a Canon camera. The timing was perfect for the trip! I am so excited to use my new camera while abroad. I have a huge passion for photography and I look forward to taking photos of the beautiful scenery in Seoul.

I have been furiously researching all the sites on our itinerary. On Monday, I went to the mall to buy some outfits to match the scenery of the locations we’re seeing. I love styling outfits and I am excited to style unique outfits to match Korea’s fashion aesthetic! It will be a fun way to express my creativity.

I am anxiously counting down the hours until departure and longingly await this exhilarating trip!
