After breakfast at the hotel, we took a bus ride for about an hour and a half to Camp Humphreys, the largest overseas U.S. military base in the world. Unfortunately, we were not able to take many pictures at the base, but we got to see some cool machines as well as learn some interesting facts about the base.
We were introduced to Camp Humphreys by a short video as well as a Q&A with Lieutenant General Christopher LaNeve. As it turns out, he also grew up in the Pittsburgh area, so he was excited to talk to us. The biggest thing I took away from our time with General LaNeve is that the ability to listen and consider the opinion of others is a very important trait to have for success not only for the military but for just about every job you can get.
Next, we were shown many of the machines that are kept at the base including; Joint Assault Bridge (JAB), Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), Husky, and Buffalo. The JAB is a machine used to create a bridge over a gap to allow for military vehicles to cross over. It can support up to 115 tons of weight, so just about every vehicle they would need is able to cross. The ABV is a vehicle that can clear a path for easy mobility of other vehicles with the use of many different strategies. It can hold around 200 pounds of C4 that can be launched all connected to a single line, it can shoot a rocket, and has plows at the front, all for clearing paths. The Husky is used to detect land mines by measuring the density of the soil beneath it. It takes a skilled person to be able to tell what densities are threats compared to just a rock underground. The Buffalo is then used to safely remove the mines from the ground.

We finished our tour of Camp Humphreys with a bus ride around the whole base where I learned many interesting facts. The area itself was taken from the Japanese during the Korean War, and is larger in size than Washington D.C. The base has 4 schools; 2 elementary , 1 middle, and 1 high school, and there is roughly 3000 students. There is also family living spaces that can hold around 500 families. Lastly, there are many different sports fields like soccer fields, baseball fields, even a full 18 hole golf course.

When we got back from the tour, we decided to take a walk to see the North Seoul Tower. On the way there, we had to hike up a very tall mountain which lead to some amazing pictures of all of the buildings in the surrounding area.

As we kept walking, we eventually made it to the North Seoul Tower where there was a gift shop, 7-Eleven, and a ticket booth to go up to the top of the tower, among other things.

We purchased tickets and the view from the top of the tower was even better than the view from the trail. The large amount of buildings along with the background of the mountains was amazing to see, and I am very glad we decided to make the walk to the tower.
