We visited the University of Augsburg’s campus today and met with the rest of the students that would be working with us on our group company presentations.
It was really interesting how integrated the University of Augsburg’s campus was with its surroundings, and I guess it’s because of Europe’s emphasis on sustainability. Like what Professor Feick said, American universities have very clean cut grasses and fresh mowed lawns. University of Augsburg had a more “free-styled” campus with overgrown grass and little grass patches on top of their buildings. I actually preferred their look more as it unified human buildings with the natural ecosystem, which I believe is what we as a society should be aiming to do in the first place.

After presenting a brief introduction of our company to everyone, we headed to their cafeteria. It was really big and hectic. There was a set time for students to eat, and then it would close, which was different from how American university food halls ran. Food was pretty good.
I also noticed that throughout the campus there were many artwork installments. I included pictures of two, but there were many more scattered throughout the campus.

Later on, the German students gave us a tour of the city and took us on a scavenger hunt. It was pretty fun despite the pouring rain. The day ended with dinner at an authentic Italian restaurant — yum!
