Day 1/Day 2 in Argentina!

Our travel day to Argentina started off with a flight to Atlanta. Shortly after arriving in Atlanta, we found out that our flight was not departing at 10pm, but 8am. Meaning, we had a whole night in the airport ahead of us. We made the best of the news and got to know each other while passing the time. The next morning, we boarded a flight at 8am to head to Argentina and arrived at 6pm. After arriving from the long delay, we made it to Argentina! We started off the trip with some barbecue for dinner at IES and began to explore the city. We had chorizo, squash, eggplant, potatoes, and bread. I was not used to this type of barbecue and enjoyed getting to try everything new. This morning, we went to breakfast and headed to IES to learn about some general safety tips while exploring Argentina. We then walked to Universidad Austral to hear from Dr. Gabriel Novick who touched deeper into some topics he had introduced to us in the spring semester, including the sectors of healthcare, who is covered in each sector, and shared valuable knowledge. We also heard from the past Minister of Health of Buenos Aires who was also very knowledgable and was a pleasure to get to hear from him. After the two lectures and two coffee breaks, we headed to learn to tango. I loved this! I had no previous background of tango dancing and enjoyed getting to learn the skill. I will say, I am not very good, but enjoyed the experience while in Argentina. The instructors were so fun and made tango very easy to pick up. We then had some free time and decided to grab some dinner at a local restaurant. I loved how much the dining experience differed from the U.S. The food is paced to come out much slower, the check is given upon request, and there is not a feeling of being rushed. The food we had was amazing. After dinner, we walked around and got to explore a little more of the city and are getting ready for what tomorrow holds!
