Day 2: Audi virtual visit and Town Tour

Today we got up super early and started our day on the tram to the University of Augsburg for the first official day with the students. The public transportation is much cleaner and nicer than America. I was not surprised by this as the culture in Germany respects the environment more and people’s things. Being on the train a lot today, it was interesting to view people’s reactions to others on the train. For example, people moving for the elderly to sit.

At the University, we spent time speaking with the students and doing an introduction to our companies. It is four Pitt students to four Germany students. It was nice to sit and learn what the students are studying and where they are from. We then spent time watching everyone’s presentation. Then, we have an Audi talk with an employee. We learned a bit about their process and their company goals for the upcoming years. Then, we had time to eat at the campus dining hall. The food was very affordable and easy for students to eat.

Then, we spent time doing a scavenger hunt around Augsburg with the German students. We walked to the stadium, went around campus, and saw buildings. It was interesting to see the campus set up and how everything was very nicely taken care of and After finishing the scavenger hunt, we went to an Italian restaurant. I had Cacio e Pepe and tried a bit of pizza. It was very good and reminded me of good Italian food back at home. I could tell the ingredients were fresh and the pasta was handmade. It was a great way to round out my day!
