Today was a jam packed day that started early with a visit to Hoerbiger. It was about an hour drive to the facility where we were able to see how different products on their supply chain are made. It was interesting to tour the facility and see what they have to offer. The first supply chain were these technological chips and they required cleanliness to produce. We had to wear protective gear and vests to view them.

The second location was a much larger facility where they made car parts like synchronization rings. It was super interesting to see the supply chain and how intricate it was. There was little rules like where we could walk or what we could see. For even as something as simple as a ring, there are so many steps that go into making these few car parts. Along with the presentations, it was a very eye opening view into the scale of production needed for just a single product. They are also heavily tested to make sure they operate correctly. This types of checks and balances- as mentioned by the employees- can save lots of time, money, and even somebody’s life. Personally, I would love to work at a company like this. The culture was super inviting and they had a lot of perks to help employees. The buildings were nicely set up and had a lot of natural light with plants. I really enjoyed my time at the facility and appreciated the effort spent by the employees to organize the day!

We soon left and headed to Oberammergau. We took a ski lift to the top of the mountains and was able to take some pictures at the top. Unfortunately, unlike past years, it was foggy and we were unable to see off the mountain. Riding the lift in the rain definitely tested my fears but I was able to pull through! We did some light shopping in the town at the bottom and then headed home.
