Day 3 in Vietnam – Sustainable Energy and Language Class

Day 3 in Ho Chi Minh City was definitely not what I expected. Since I wasn’t able to go to the site visit, I’m going to talk about everything I did on Day 3!

To start, some of the students decided to try Highlands Coffee in the morning. I didn’t know what to expect, but the coffee I ordered was insane. It had a very bold coffee taste but was also sweet at the same time. It was extremely good and I was very satisfied.

Next, we went to UEF for the role of green transformation and the sustainable economy in Vietnam lecture. I found this lecture was very interesting especially because I felt as though the professor giving the lecture was very engaged with the us and wanted to know our inputs as well, instead of just fully lecturing us. I always found the topic of sustainability interesting so I was excited to learn some of Vietnam’s methods for their sustainable practices.

After the lecture, we had the Vietnamese lecture class which is definitely the most difficult part of the day in my opinion. I’ve learned through this trip that Vietnamese is an extremely difficult language to learn and does not come easy. However, I think the second class defiantly was better than the first and I may be starting to grasp some words.

Lastly, we went to a restaurant for lunch which was really good. We made our own spring rolls which was fun and all the food was so good. I tried this tofu lychee dessert which I did not think I was going to like but it was so delicious. It tasted like something I have never had before; it was very unique.
