Compared to yesterday, the itinerary for day 3 was less hectic. However, that came at the cost of having to get up earlier. Normally this would be a problem for me because I am not a morning person. However, due to going to bed at 8 pm, I woke up at 4. After failing to go back to sleep for three hours, I went to breakfast.
The ride to the military base took 90 minutes. During this time, I mostly stared out the window observing whatever was passing by. I particularly noticed that many cars have different color license plates. It was explained to us that the colors were chosen purposely, as green is for personal vehicles, yellow for taxis, and red for construction workers.
When we got there, we were presented with a presentation and a Q&A session with a 3-star general. The general provided information about what they do on base, and why they do it. After that, we headed for an early lunch on base. While I like trying Korean food, it was nice to have a meal that I would eat weekly in America. My lunch consisted of chicken, grapes, corn, and a brownie. Once we finished eating, we continued the tour. First, the group looked at some machinery. Then, to end our tour, we took a bus tour around the base. We were told Camp Humphreys was one of the largest US military bases, but the bus tour helped solidify that. It was like its own little town, as it had schools, theaters, housing, recreational facilities, and more.

Once back in Seoul, the rest of the day was ours. Our tour guide, Kay, gave us a recommendation for a good place to eat. My group decided to try her recommendation and it did not disappoint. At the restaurant, we ordered dumplings. The dumplings were delicious. I would say that they were the best dumplings I have ever had. After that, we went to get ourselves ice cream. We ended up going to this place that reminded me of Dippin Dots, but 100 times better. They served shaved ice with ice cream and a topping, I ended up getting the safe choice of Oreos, and it was pretty good, a solid 8/10.
