Barrio China y Japonesa

Today, we started off the day with a Q&A about what we learned so far about the Argentine healthcare system. Then, we had lunch around 12, and had some of the best empanadas I ever had. Our day ended early do to a public strike arguing against public transportation so we had free time to explore more of Argentina.

After lunch, my friends and i got ready and went to the Japanese garden. It is one of the largest Japanese gardens in the world that’s outside of Japan. It was extremely beautiful and saw a total different demographic. There were many indigenous hispanics and people of Asian background. What surprised me the most was some of them didn’t speak Spanish. It costed around 2,000 pesos to get in which was extremely cheap and there were pretty shops and attractions within the park. After our tour of the garden, we took a taxi to Barrio Chino. It’s a small little area, about four blocks where there is a small percentage of Asians who live there, particularly East Asians. The taxis were cheap as well because compared to the U.S. it would have been a crazy amount of money spent. In Barrio Chino, we saw this really cat cafe and tons of beautiful murals. We went to this restaurant called Mu La Tang for Chinese pot and the food was pretty good. Then we got boba, there were many boba. spots, little shops where i bought some souvenirs from. The place was definitely one of the prettiest places I have visited so far in Buenos Aires. There were also many expats in the area.
