Camp Humphrey

Today we visited Camp Humphrey, the largest US military base outside of America. Camp Humphrey was interesting. It was cool to see all the vehicles they use and learn about the US and South Korea’s partnership.

We took a bus to Camp Humphrey. It was a long bus ride, but I slept for most of it. When we arrived a soldier came on the bus and called out all our names. We were told to bring two form of ID, but they didn’t check either when checking us before we entered. We were then led to a presentation room but went back out to the smoothie king. I got a smoothie and we went back in. A colonel spoke to us and let us ask questions before the major general came in. They showed us a video , but it was the wrong video. It was a video that must be shown to families moving on to the base. The major general was not happy. They then showed us the right video about what they do at the camp. The general then opened the floor to questions.

After we took a photo together before going to lunch. Lunch was served on the base in a cafeteria style. I got some chicken and salad to eat. The food was good. After that we got a tour by the military engineers on all their different divisions. We got to see a whole bunch of different vehicles and equipment they use and practice with. After that, we took a bus tour around the base. After this we left and went back to the hotel. We were left to get food on our own, but I ended up falling asleep til the next day.

Overall this day was sort of blurry to me. I started a new medicine and didn’t know what it did to me. It apparently makes me really tired. I took it that morning before we left. Because of this, I don’t remember much and was tired the whole time. A lot of the time we were on the bus I was napping.
