Day three of our trip started early, we met in the lobby at 7:15 AM for our bus ride to Hoerbiger. Hoerbiger is a company that makes a ton of different products, and we only two of their factories. The first factory we saw was where they produced their piezo valves, which can control the flow gases in machines. They have many uses from ventilators to laser cutters. To go to the production line of this factory, we had to put plastic over our shoes and wear lab coats. Quality is really important to this company, and you can tell in how rigorous their testing was for this item.
The next factory of theirs we toured was where they produced their transmission gears. This factory was a lot bigger than the first, and we got to see the huge machines they use to make the gears. One cool part about this tour is that as we went through the tour, our guide picked up gears as we went along to show us how they fit together.
After leaving Hoerbiger, we went to a town called Oberammergau, which was situated in a valley. We took a cable car there up to the top of Laber, a mountain in the Alps mountain range. Unfortunately, it had been raining pretty consistently and all we could see from the top of the mountain was fog. The fog was pretty impressive though.

After coming back down the mountain, we walked around Oberammergau a bit. They had a bunch of cute shops, including a Christmas shop. I bought a few souvenirs there for my family and myself. After that, we got back on the bus to Augsburg and for dinner. This was an interesting day, and I am looking forward to seeing the company I was assigned to.
