Day in Munich

We started our day in Munich’s historic heart at Marienplatz. It was super cool seeing the historic building, which was a lot younger than I expected- only about 150 years. I guessed 500 years old when our tour guide asked us. We witnessed the bird flapping its wings and men dancing which is a large tourist attraction and I could tell why. I’ve never seen anything like that in the US. I really like and appreciate the traditions throughout the German culture. It’s one thing I think is super special and much different than the US.

After our tour, we ate lunch at an Irish pub where I had a traditional German 24-hour roast pork meal which was one of my favorites yet and we followed lunch by visiting the original Hofbrauhaus which was super cool to see. My family back home really appreciated the pictures and videos I sent of the Hofbrauhaus as it is their favorite place to visit in Germany. What a great day we had in such a great city. Just exploring new places, seeing all different types of people, and wandering around shops and restaurants is something I’m really enjoying in Germany and looking forward to doing for the next week.
