Today, I wasn’t feeling well so I stayed at the hotel. I tried Korean food, today. I ordered a miso based soup with vegetables and a side of rice. Outside the restaurant was a cute dog that was waiting to be fed by all customers. I thought it was a stray but turns out, it has an owner but loves to stop by and beg for food anyway. The dog was very polite because it would stand outside and wouldn’t enter the restaurant even when the hostess opened the door. Anyway, most students went to Don Silvano, Capilla del Señor, where there was a welcome reception, lunch, and a Gaucho show. A Gaucho show is a traditional performance with music, tricks, and instruments that revolves around caring for livestock. A gaucho is a cowboy of Pampas and a symbol of masculinity. The show intends to keep the equestrian way of life alive as globalization fuels the modernization of farming throughout South America.
On a side note, tomorrow is Mother’s Day. This is the first year that I haven’t been able to celebrate the day dedicated to my inspiration, my mom. My mother has been through challenges that I hope no women ever face in their life. However, it has never dwindled her smile or affected the way she treated me. She has always made me feel loved and supported. I inspire to be a mother just like her.
