Today we woke up and got ready to meet in the lobby. We went and caught the bus, but had to hustle because we almost missed it! Once we got on the bus we headed toward The Black Country Living Museum. The bus ride was fun and we got to sit on the second floor of the bus. This is the first time I have been on a bus like this here in the United Kingdom. A few times in Pittsburgh I rode on the second floor of the ducky tour. The ducky tour is a tour of Pittsburgh while quaking at the people on the sidewalks. It also converts into a boat, which is fun. When we got off the boat we went and got in line for the mine and started our day off well!
It was nice to take a break from class but still be able to all be together. We first went to the mine and walked through the dark. We had to duck down and go from place to place within the mine to learn more about what they did. The miners would be working for 12 hours in the small spaces which is amazing. It was pitch black inside and took a few minutes for our eyes to adjust. We would walk to the different places and a line would shine on so they could talk about what some of the mine workers did. We then went to the schoolhouse with a teacher. He acted and directed the class how it would have been. He made everyone laugh and it was a fun experience. He made us learn the alphabet backward and made us learn Hickory Dickory Dock!
After the schoolhouse, we went to the carnival. We played the shooting game and knocked down the cups! I played the shooting game once and went 5 for 5! You had to hit the moving targets to get a prize. I picked a purple shark and gave it away to a little kid. At the knockdown the cups game, I knocked all of the cups over with a bean bag off of a table. I choose a blue snake for my prize. We then got to try fish and chips for the first time. The line was very long but thankfully it was so good! After we ate we walked through the gift shop to check out what they had. We walked over to the bus stop and waited for our bus to come.
When it finally arrived we went on and took a seat. The bus ride back was way longer than on the way there, therefore we were very excited to be back at the hotel. We decided to make sometime later to go get dinner and walk around. We also needed to set aside some time away to start our projects. We have a lot to do and getting started now will really help. We decided to take deeper thinking into our question. We started to think if we should tweak our question and our supporting question a little. It would be better to spread more of the information we learned and observed.
