Visit to Green Viet

Today wrapped up our first full week in Vietnam and it’s already been a time to remember. The amount of amazing site visits has been very impactful to me and the opportunity to learn about businesses outside of the US is something I cherish as I head into the business world. Visiting Vietnam has opened my eyes to how others live their lives. This trip has sparked a flame in me to want to visit more countries and learn about different cultures. You cannot truly understand a culture until you have lived amongst it. From the food to the people, I want to experience that all around the world.

At today’s site, Green Viet, we took a look at a startup company from 11 years ago that has risen to high status amongst the ranks of sustainable consulting companies in Vietnam. They work alongside construction firms to design buildings in the most “green” way possible. One of the biggest things that has propelled Green Viet the industry itself. When they started it was an empty industry and they had the ability to set the foundation for how it can be run. In my opinion this is why Green Viet is as big as they are today. The blue ocean strategy is what has allowed for them to succeed. Mr. Quang harped on the network that is essential to being successful and even his first client was an old friend from a past job. What I took away from todays was how important client relationships are to growing a business. His large network is one of the reasons Green Viet could work outside the country and join the international space. Mr. Quang was a very professional businessman, and his entrepreneurial skills are they key reason he has a successful business.
