I’d like to preface this blog by saying this has been my favorite day of the trip so far. As an avid nature and national park enjoyed this day was everything I could have imagined it to be. From a difficult rocky hike which was a great workout to a rewarding view and great conversations coming up and down the mountain, it was truly a great day. The day began with some black coffee and boiled eggs for me as I feel that this food and drink grounds me in the morning and then we headed by bus to Bukhansan to hike the mountain. Most of the day consisted of hiking as it was difficult and elevated terrain but I really enjoyed the hike and felt connected with the nature surrounding the park. Once we got to the top the view was incredible and the Buddhist temple built there was breathtaking. The view of the valley next to the mountain peaks and even seeing Seoul over the horizon was one of my favorite views in my entire life. After we reached the top and enjoyed it for a bit it was time to take the way down, at this point everyone was dragging a bit but the group pushed through the jello legs and trequed down the hill how we scaled up the hill in the morning, together. Today really showed me the connections I’ve made with people in this group over the trip and I hope I can maintain connections with these people as I could see them being close friends. After another bus ride back to the hotel I write this blog before we travel to dinner where we cook our own bibimbop, a Korean staple food. I look forward to learning some Korean cooking techniques and trying more diverse food. Now as I conclude my blog I hope to update you all more tomorrow about the dinner tonight and the events of tomorrow!
