Today, we toured a sustainability company called Green Viet. Green Viet focuses on optimizing buildings to lower energy costs and decrease carbon emissions. The co-founder, Mr. Quang, spoke mainly about how “network is net worth.” He emphasized the importance of creating a startup and having loyal friends who will endorse both your company and you as a person. We also learned about the main factors that contributed to his business’s success, particularly in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, companies face many issues, and sustainability is not high on their priority list. Due to the seemingly low demand for sustainability, Green Viet doesn’t have much competition. They rely on major companies hiring them to reduce their energy consumption. Mr. Quang showed us how his company uses virtual mockups to project airflow in buildings, allowing them to renovate or build airflow-efficient structures.
When asked about his first few customers, Mr. Quang mentioned that his first customer was a coworker from his first job. As a business student, it is instilled in our minds that to succeed in the modern world, you need to know the right people. We were also educated on global business and how foreign endorsements are essential for success. Overall, Mr. Quang appeared very knowledgeable about his small sector of the Vietnamese economy and found a viable way to capitalize on this market segment.
