Weekend in Vietnam – Vung Tau Def Beats Jersey Shore!

Saturday May 11th, we went to Vung Tau Beach which was probably my favorite day so far in Vietnam. We learned so much about Vietnam’s culture but also had a very fun/relaxing day after a busy week. To start the day, we climbed up a mountain in Vung Tau. This was certainly beautiful but also EXTREMELY tiring. It was pretty much 100 degrees and were hiking 800+ steps in pants. However, the view definitely made up for it. There was a statue of a Jesus at the top of the mountain. We could actually go up in the city to the top of it and have an amazing view.

After the hike, we had lunch at the hotel we went to which one of my favorite lunches here so far. They served Hotpot which I never had before this trip but it surprised me in a very good way. It was super flavorful and I really enjoyed it. We also had flan, for dessert, which I have had before and was never really a flan. However, this flan was sooo good. They also gave us these really good, refreshing, lime drinks which was very good as well.

After lunch we got to go on the beach, in the ocean, in the pool, and just relax. It was super nice to just hangout with everyone all day plus our Vietnamese friends as well. Lili, Hiwot, Claire, and I were showing Hebe and Annie how to do handstands in the pool, which was very fun. The whole day was a 10/10 and I couldn’t expect anything better out of a day! Vung Tau 10000% beats the Jersey Shore beaches!
