Day 12: Trip to Regensburg and Walhalla

Today marked the 12th day of our program and it started with a two-hour bus ride to Regensburg. We had a town tour where we got to see the river boat inspired by Swarovski crystals. Once the tour was finished we had time to eat lunch and explore more of the town. A few friends and I decided to go to Dean&David for lunch where they serve simple food to roots in Pittsburgh. The food was great and not expensive, but we started our souvenir shopping. While taking the tour we saw a record shop and decided we wanted to go back to it after; that was our first shopping stop. I was able to buy some small things for my dad and me since we both really love music. Once we finished shopping, we got some more gelato and I tried the flavor Kinder chocolate. It was so perfect and I am definitely going to miss the gelato when I come home. After the town visit, we stopped by Walhalla to see the beautiful building and view. The view was astonishing and I could not believe how extravagant that building was. The inside looked so expensive and rich and the outside was breathtaking. After walking around for a bit, I bought two postcards to take home and then we headed back to Augsburg. To end the day, some of us went to TK Maxx to find some last-minute needs before the trip home and then grabbed dinner at the Al Drago.
