This trip has been one for the books. This was the first time I ever went abroad and there was no other group I would have wanted to experience this with. From the first day I realized this trip was gonna go one of two ways. We were gonna be best friends or this was gonna be a long two weeks. Our group of 22 were all strangers. But after an unfortunately long flight delay, we pulled an all nighter in the Atlanta airport. This allowed 22 strangers to become best friends in a matter of hours. If it wasn’t for this night I don’t know that we would have started the trip off so fun.

We wasted no time. From the first night we got to explore the city and get our bearings. The people of the city are so welcoming. Even though there was a language barrier, everyone was super accommodating and we made our best effort to learn. We met so many amazing people who taught us about there healthcare system. I never thought I would be so interested in the business side of healthcare, but there was so much information to learn we never had a dull moment.

From the early mornings to late nights we made the most of our two weeks. We ate such great food and got to embrace the culture of Argentina. We learned everything from Gaucho culture, to the history of the disappeared, to the complexities of the public healthcare system. But I think my biggest take away was being grateful for what I have. Seeing the public healthcare system and hearing the first hand struggles of the students it made me so grateful for things I often overlooked. The kindness of the people we met made this experience so special. I can’t believe the two weeks are already over. I never want to leave you Buenos Aires <3
Until I return thank you,
Kaylynne 🙂
