Day 12: Regensburg and Walhalla

That next morning it was another bus ride to the great city of Regensburg. With a population of just over 150,000 it was a busy and busting city. It was perfect weather for a city tour- not too cold, hot, or sunny. The town really looked amazing from a distance I could not wait to walk around!

Our tour started on the 12th-century stone bridge that has deep history in Germany with trade routes to cross the river. The tour guide did a great job of pointing out the monetary significance of taller buildings or buildings made out of stone. There was a few buildings that stood out (height wise!) that I wanted to check out a bit closer.

After our town, we were very hungry and wanted to grab something to eat. My friends and I decided to stop for some yummy Italian food. Above is a picture of my pizza, Hawaiian, which has been my staple here in Germany to get.

On the drive home we stopped at Walhalla Temple (pictured above) . It served as almost a ‘hall of fame’ for people in Germany history. The outside, interestingly enough, is modeled off the Parthenon in Athens. Busts of famous Germans lined the walls. There were definitely some noticeable figures! Here are some pictures of people that I recognized below. Overall a really great day filled with good food and some history!
