Going on a tour through the city of Regensburg was… an experience. I enjoyed seeing the historic architecture and original buildings, however the guide was not my favorite. I had a hard time following her explanations and it took a bit longer than I think we all anticipated. However, I loved seeing the cobblestone streets and the impressive Stone Bridge that went over a beautiful river. We got to look at the beautiful Regensburg Cathedral, where it was shockingly dark inside. There were hidden courtyards and cute cafes everywhere. After the tour, we had some free time, so me and a couple friends grabbed some delicious pizza.
After Regensburg, we took the bus to the beautiful Walhalla. Seeing it in person was unreal, as I had taken a Greek art course last year and saw it in books. Seeing the Greek architecture used in a German monument is so interesting, but it fits to the vision of power and strength of the empire. The inside was also gorgeous, filled with busts of influential and important German figures. I loved sitting on the outside of the monument and just taking time to enjoy the view of the river from high above. It was such a relaxing moment, and if I got the chance to live near it, I would be there all the time with a book.
